Software Engineer Intern at
AltaML
I'm a 3rd Year Computer Engineering Student. I live and breathe programming.

what i'm working on
i’m a third-year computer and software engineering student at the
university of alberta, currently a software engineer intern at
AltaML on the
Brilliant Harvest team. i’ll be working on backend infrastructure using C# and the .NET stack, helping commercialize AI-powered systems in the agtech space.
before that, i worked as a software engineer research assistant at
GeoTrans Lab, where i built and deployed a full-stack system for road-surface and tire-friction detection. that meant everything from ML inference pipelines and GPU acceleration to fastapi services, docker, and cloud deployments.
i’ve also built production software as a software engineer intern at
VSF Holdings, and worked on space systems as a software engineer with
AlbertaSAT.
where i lead
outside of pure engineering, i’ve taken on leadership and community roles as vice president of the
computer engineering club and as an AI student ambassador at
intel, running workshops and mentoring students. i’ve also completed an AI and SWE-focused residency at
headstarter, which helped sharpen how i think about shipping, iteration, and real-world constraints.

what i care about
i want to build and ship things that real people rely on, ideally at companies serving millions, if not billions, of users. i’m currently looking for a four-month co-op starting summer 2026, and i’m open to longer terms when the fit makes sense.
i’m most interested in backend and systems-leaning roles where i can see the whole picture.
understanding how a system is architected, how data flows end to end, where bottlenecks live, and why certain design decisions matter at scale is what keeps me curious.
how i build
tech-wise, i’ve worked across
python, java and
typescript,
c and
c++, c#, sql, and
bash, with experience spanning modern frontend and backend stacks, including the MERN stack .
at this point, i’m less focused on chasing every new framework and more focused on mastering fundamentals. strong software engineering principles, solid OOP, and system design intuition mean i can pick up new languages and stacks quickly when needed. i spend free time reading engineering blogs, postmortems, and design write-ups to learn how different teams build and scale.
when i’m building something personal, i’ll reach for whatever gets the job done-mocking flows in figma, spinning up prototypes in lovable or bolt.new, pair-programming with cursor, claude code, codex cli, gemini, and whatever other tools help me ship faster.
what i'm aiming for
i’ve been learning how startups go from 0 to 1, then from 1 to thousands-not just technically, but across product, execution, and growth. i’m confident i’ll dabble in the startup world within the next few years, not necessarily full-time, but as a long-term creative and learning outlet.
outside of code
right now, my goals are pretty simple. document my SWE journey publicly, grow my network on linkedin, get back to peak shape after a rough back injury, and build healthy relationships with the people i care about. giving back matters a lot to me too, especially mentoring juniors who are in the same place i was not too long ago.
to unwind, i spend time with my s/o at cat cafés 🐱, rating matcha 🍵, trying new food, lifting at the gym 🏋️♂️, calling family across the globe, or impulsively signing up for hackathons i may or may not attend :)
AltaMLJan 2026 - Apr 2026
Backend engineer (C#, .NET) on the
Brilliant Harvest team to commercialize AI-powered solutions in the AgTech industry.
GeoTrans LabSep 2025 - Dec 2025
Building GeoTrans Lab’s road-surface and tire-friction monitoring platform end-to-end - ingesting traffic and weather data, running Swin Transformer inference on batched imagery, and streaming results into mapping dashboards so our stakeholders can spot slippage risks in real time. I tuned the ONNX + FastAPI pipeline with GPU acceleration to drop latency to under five seconds for 144 images and layered in Gemini-based preprocessing so we can skip frames with untrackable conditions, pushing inference accuracy to 94% across five surface types. Everything ships through Dockerized deployments on Cloud Run backed by GitHub Actions, which cut our setup time by almost half.
VSF HoldingsJun 2025 - Aug 2025
Partnered closely with VSF’s executives to design and ship a full-stack investment analytics platform on Vercel using Next.js, TypeScript, and Node/FastAPI services. I owned the UX for investor dashboards, session analytics, and CRM/KYC onboarding flows, which ultimately tripled average visit duration and slashed manual onboarding work by 60% thanks to automated ETL pipelines in Python and SQL. Weekly Agile sprints ran like clockwork - design reviews, Figma prototyping, and stakeholder demos every Friday kept us shipping on time for every release.
Intel CorporationMay 2025 - Aug 2025
As an Intel AI Student Ambassador I led hands-on workshops that walked 300+ learners through the AI Analytics Toolkit, Modin, and XGBoost optimizations - everything from profiling data pipelines to squeezing extra accuracy out of boosted trees on Intel hardware. Outside the classroom I build demo projects on Developer Cloud, publish performance case studies, and share ready-to-run notebooks on Hugging Face so the community can replicate the optimizations.
HeadstarterMay 2025 - Aug 2025
As a Software Engineering Resident at Headstarter, I’m building 14+ full-stack and AI/ML projects focused on deploying real-world tools. My work spans LLM chaining, hyperparameter tuning, and fine-tuning over 10+ models, all with production-ready pipelines. I’ve contributed to both Python-based backends and TypeScript frontends, and have been mentored by engineers from Google, Tesla, and Two Sigma.
Computer Engineering ClubSep 2024 – Dec 2025
As VP External I run industry outreach for Alberta’s busiest student tech organization - lining up sponsors for Aether, HackED, and HackED Beta, co-hosting multi-club workshops and hackathons, and building the events site that keeps 2,500+ students in the loop. Before stepping into the VP role I served as a Junior Executive for the 2024–25 term, representing second-year Computer Engineering students, mentoring incoming members, and spearheading the initial sponsor pipeline that we still rely on today.
AlbertaSATSep 2024 – Dec 2024
Contributed to AlbertaSAT’s 2026 CubeSat launch as a software member on an Agile squad, pairing with electrical and mechanical teams to vet subsystem code long before we risked hardware testing. I built Rust-based simulators for more than two dozen components, helping uncover four critical integration issues and keeping the mission timeline intact.
